...and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.

At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.
Luke 4:40
Here was the Lord; just think of the day He had just had. In Capernaum, He had been preaching at the Synagogue when a demon-possessed a man there. This impure spirit or demon in the man recognised Jesus and caused the man to shout at Him, to tell Him to ‘go away’. It even called Him – “…the Holy One of God!”.
Jesus here reprimanded the demon and told it to leave the man, which we are told it did.
As Jesus left the synagogue and travelled on, He performed another miracle at Simon Peter’s house when He healed Simon’s mother-in-law of a high fever.
The day was now drawing to a close.
Yet there were still more demands on His time from the gathered crowd.
What is notable to me here is even though it is likely that Jesus would have been physically tired,
He neither sent them away nor healed them en masse.
He gave personal attention by laying His hands on each of them individually.
Many times I have read this passage and been in awe that Jesus would do this; then, whether you love it or loathe it, I watched The Chosen Season 2 Episode 3, which covers this time of Jesus's life. I know many find fault in aspects of how The Chosen represents some things, but this one, they got it right; they portrayed a tired, an almost exhausted Jesus taking the time and making the effort for each individual.
It reminded me that although He was /is God, He took upon Himself our human frailties and still showed such amazing love for the very ones who would reject Him.
How wonderful it is to have a personal Saviour who cares and works in our individual lives.
